The Irish Reels Film Festival is dedicated to bringing the best of contemporary Irish film to US audiences, providing a platform for Irish filmmakers to showcase their independently-produced feature films, documentaries, short films and animation.
Founded in 1997 by Caroline Cumming and Fidelma McGinn, and produced by ManicMedia, the festival’s goal is to introduce Seattle audiences to stories that reflect the uniqueness of Irish life by showcasing contemporary Irish films. Our focus is on independently produced work and those that have yet to receive international distribution. We hope to inspire our audiences with thought provoking and powerful stories, stories that are universal yet told from an Irish viewpoint by talented Irish filmmakers. The festival is a program of the Irish Heritage Club, a 501c3 non profit.
Irish Reels Film Festival: An annual program of Irish films scheduled in the Fall at SIFF Film Center. This three day film festival features 10-20 contemporary Irish films (features, shorts and documentaries) and provides opportunities for Northwest audiences to explore new works in Irish cinema and connect with visiting filmmakers.
Irish Week Program: An annual FREE program of Irish films at the Seattle Center during Irish Week in March. Over 10 hours of Irish films with a focus on cultural heritage, music and art.
Visiting Filmmakers: Year round collaboration with Seattle based film and arts groups to support bringing Irish film and filmmakers to Seattle.
The festival is a labor of love and every year we are blessed with a wonderful team of volunteers. Thank you to all who have joined us over the years for your wonderful contributions of time and energy and your hard work and high spirits while producing Irish Reels:
